We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychological services to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of students. This role will involve collaboration with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments.

Responsibilities

1. Data-Based Decision Making and Accountability
  • Conduct assessments and interpret data to inform instruction and intervention.
  • Utilize data collection and analysis techniques to evaluate student needs and progress.
2. Consultation and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement academic and behavioral interventions.
  • Provide consultation to school personnel on psychological and educational issues.
3. Interventions and Instructional Support to Develop Academic Skills
  • Design and implement evidence-based academic interventions.
  • Support teachers in using instructional strategies to enhance student learning.
4. Interventions and Mental Health Services to Develop Social and Life Skills
  • Provide individual and group counseling services.
  • Develop and implement programs to promote social-emotional learning and mental health.
5. School-Wide Practices to Promote Learning
  • Participate in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives to improve school climate and safety.
  • Advocate for practices that support equity and inclusion.
6. Preventive and Responsive Services
  • Develop and implement prevention programs to address potential learning and behavioral problems.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies.
7. Family-School Collaboration Services
  • Work with families to support their children’s educational and mental health needs.
  • Facilitate communication between home and school to ensure consistent support.
8. Diversity in Development and Learning
  • Promote understanding and respect for diversity within the school community.
  • Implement culturally responsive practices to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
9. Research and Program Evaluation
  • Engage in research to inform practice and contribute to the knowledge base in school psychology.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and interventions.
10. Legal, Ethical, and Professional Practice
  • Adhere to legal, ethical, and professional standards in all aspects of practice.
  • Engage in continuing professional development to maintain and enhance skills.

Qualifications

School Psychologists must meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Valid certification as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
  • Strong knowledge of practice standards and domains.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with diverse student populations and culturally responsive practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
